Barbara Magoha, the widow of former Education CS, the late Prof. George Magoha, revealed she was solely responsible for preparing the former minister's meals for 40 years until his death.

Barbara was addressing mourners at her husband's sendoff ceremony on Saturday, held at their rural home in Yala, Siaya County.

She said Magoha ate the food she cooked, even if she was out of the country and regardless of how busy she was.

“He ate my food until the last day. For 40 good years, nobody else cooked my husband’s food. I cooked with all I had…I was so busy but whether I was in the country or not, it was my food that he ate,” Barbara said.

Mrs. Magoha also told mourners how she played her role as a wife to her husband and how she offered her unwavering support to the academician.

“As a wife, I supported him in so many ways, but one thing I would like to say is that as a Calabar woman, I never let him down,” she said.

The sentiments expressed by Barbara have sparked arguments from a section of Kenyans on social media, pitching women against men in spirited arguments.
