Former Education CS Prof George Magoha had a premonition about his own death even as he was in mourning while waiting to bury his younger brother who died in the US in December.

This was revealed on Tuesday by his close friend, Prof Walter Mwanda, who narrated how Prof Magoha shared with him and his wife Barbara Magoha the forewarning he had about his looming death.

Prof Mwanda revealed that the former CS collapsed into a coma four times and was resuscitated by his son, Dr Michael Magoha, and the medics at Nairobi Hospital before his body finally gave in and he breathed his last on Tuesday.

“He had a premonition and told his wife, I suppose you will get it from her, that his time had come and he was happy that everything was done,” said Prof Mwanda.

Prof Mwanda says the former CS then asked his wife to call their son Dr Michael, daughter-in-law and himself to share the premonition and other things he wanted done before his day came.

“He was at home. You may know that he was making arrangements for the burial of his brother, whose body, I think, must have arrived today also from the US,” he revealed.

He revealed how the former CS had been busy in the last few weeks as he oversaw preparations for the burial of his younger brother, Prof Richard Alex Nyabera Magoha.

“So, over the last six weeks, we have been communicating but he has been extremely busy. I must say for the first time he didn’t reply to my call on Saturday.

“But then later on I called him using another number and we discussed the way forward with regards to arrangements of his brother’s burial.

According to an obituary published in a local daily, Prof Richard Magoha died on December 6, 2022 in Allen, Texas, and was scheduled to be buried on Saturday January 28, 2022.
