The Assistant Chief from Kisumu County who recently became popular after videos of him busting some dance moves in a nightclub now says he was on a covert operation.

The Assistant Chief identified as John Ogilo Migun during an interview with a local media house said he had gone to the club to investigate a drug abuse-related case when a song he likes blasted through the speakers.

“After work, we had gone undercover to investigate some drug abuse cases. Suddenly, a song I like came through, I know that song and I like it,” Ogilo said.

Ogilo said that as he was dancing to the ‘Kuna-Kuna’ hit, someone took a video of him dancing and little did he know it would go viral.

“When I was dancing, the person I was with recorded me and I didn't expect it to go viral,” he said.

The Assistant Chief revealed the interaction between him and the youth in his area has taken a positive turn since the video surfaced online because the youth freely share their issues with him.

"Ever since the video went viral, I have been interacting with the youth freely. They come to my office without fear to tell me their issues," he said.

"Many people have been coming to my office to give important information on security matters."

As for where he learnt how to pull such dance moves, Ogilo said he relies on music shows on TV and TikTok challenges.

“I usually watch music shows on television and some challenges on TikTok but decided to do it my own way and have moves that my weight could carry,” he says.
