Kenya Railways Corporation on Sunday announced that its Madaraka Express Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) train will start making a stopover at the Voi station from February.

In a notice, Kenya Railways said the train will be making a five-minute stopover at Voi at 3PM allowing passengers from the Nairobi and Mombasa termini to alight and board.

“Kenya Railways wishes to notify members of the public that the 1500hr Madaraka Express Passenger Service train will now make a stopover at Voi station effective February 1, 2023. Passengers from Mombasa and Nairobi Termini can board and alight the train at Voi station,” said Kenya Railways.

The Mombasa to Nairobi SGR train will stop at Voi station at 4:38PM and proceed at 4:43PM and the Nairobi to Mombasa afternoon train will stop in Voi at 6:48PM and leave at 6:53PM.

The SGR train departing from Mombasa will now be terminating its trip in Nairobi at 8:18PM, while the Nairobi SGR train will be terminating its journey in Mombasa at 8:30PM.

Kenya Railways reminded passengers that the reporting time at its Nairobi and Mombasa SGR stations remain one hour before departure.

“We also take this opportunity to remind customers that one must arrive at least one hour before departure in order to have a smooth check-in and boarding experience,” added the corporation.
