Police have revealed the lifeless body that was found inside a metallic box along Kipenyo-Katinga road in Eldoret Town, Uasin Gishu County is that of LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba.

It remains unclear who murdered and dumped the body of Chiloba, who is also a fashion model, is a famous personality in Eldoret Town owing to his bold and flashy lifestyle.

According to police, bodaboda riders who were nearby witnessed the metallic box being dumped beside the road by a vehicle whose occupants had covered the registration plate.

Officers from the Eldoret Central Police Station rushed to the scene only to discover the decomposing body of the LGBTQ activist and model, who was wearing a woman’s attire.

Police later moved the body to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret with an autopsy scheduled to be conducted on Chiloba’s body to ascertain the cause of his death.

Chiloba is well known for his flashy lifestyle on his social media pages, including photos in which he is wearing women’s attire and was open and bold about his queer lifestyle.

In his last post on Instagram on December 29, 2022, Chiloba expressed optimism he would achieve a number of his goals in 2023, including pushing the growth of his fashion brand.

His death comes four months after he was accosted and beaten up by unknown persons who were allegedly opposed to his LGBTQ life leaving him with serious wounds on his face.
