The Education Ministry has released the 2022 KCPE examination results and asked parents to access their children’s KCPE results by sending their full index number followed by KCPE to 20076.

According to the country’s leading telco Safaricom’s announcement, before the results were officially released, the short message service will set subscribers back by Sh25 to access the results.

“KCPE results will be out soon! Once formally announced by Ministry of Education, get candidate results by sending index number to code 20076 @ Kshs 25 per SMS,” Safaricom said.

The Education Ministry is yet to confirm if the same results are accessible via the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) portal as last year’s.

The Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu disclosed a total of 1,233,852 candidates sat the 2022 KCPE Examination in 28,408 centres across the country.

Of these candidates, 620,965 (50.32 per cent) were boys while 612,887 (49.67 per cent) were girls, which shows Kenya has achieved gender parity at the primary school level.

The number of registered candidates aged 12 years and below declined from 33,627 (2.74 per cent) in 2021 to 31,498 (2.53 per cent) in 2022 showing that parents and 25 schools are on the right path of enrolling children in schools at the right age.

The highest number of candidates were in the appropriate age bracket of 13-15 years, (885,162; 71.13 per cent), a trend that has been replicated in the last five years.

According to statistics, the overall performance in the 2022 KCPE exams improved compared to the previous year.
