Police in Kirinyaga County are looking for a man who killed his elder brother following an ugly brawl that resulted from an incestuous love triangle.

The shocking incident that happened on Saturday at Chema Village in Baricho, Kirinyaga started when the deceased, a 37-year-old man identified as Samuel Irungu found his younger 31-year-old brother identified as Benard Njere in a compromising situation with their 17-year-old step- sister.

Irungu who apparently is also reported to have had an illicit affair with their stepsister got enraged at the sight he witnessed of his younger brother enjoying the fruit of the same forbidden tree he did.

He descended on Njere with fury, and a fierce fight ensued.

According to their father, Njere bludgeoned his elder brother with a blunt object on the head, face and back before escaping from the scene.

Irungu was rushed to Karatina Sub-County Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries his younger brother had inflicted on him while undergoing treatment.

Their father reported the matter to the police and detectives immediately visited the homestead and launched investigations into the incident.

Preliminary investigations revealed last year Irungu’s affair with their minor sister had resulted in a pregnancy.

However, the minor did not carry the pregnancy to a full term as she experienced a stillbirth earlier this year.

Police launched a manhunt for Njere who is still at large and are hoping to bring him to book soon.
