"I appreciate the long and close relationship between Kenya and the Commonwealth. There is more scope for two to collaborate,” Ruto said.
Scotland had paid a courtesy call at State House, Nairobi, where she lauded the Kenyan Government’s plan to have all public services digitised, saying it will benefit the economy and the citizens.
She also said it was imperative that the youth within the Commonwealth member states get digital and technology skills.
Scotland further said those with advanced coding and artificial intelligence (AI) skills will benefit from 10,000 certificates given by digital companies such as Google and Intel.
"The Commonwealth plans to give 200 such certificates to each member State," Scotland said.
The Commonwealth Secretary-General is in the country for Innovation Week, which begins on Tuesday.
The Innovation Week comes a few days ahead of this year’s Jamhuri Day whose theme is Connect, Innovate and Inspire.
