The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition is currently experiencing some turbulence after a section of its affiliate parties is now threatening to quit the coalition.
The Jubilee Party has threatened to pull out of the coalition if a party member is not allowed to be in the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).
This comes after Senate Minority Whip Fatuma Dullo’s name was ejected from the list and was replaced by Nyamira Senator Okong’o Omogeni’s.
The Jubilee legislators demand that one of the three positions be reserved for the minority in the commission.
Laikipia North MP Sarah Korere said they willingly joined Azimio and if they continue feeling mistreated in the coalition, they will also leave the same way.

Korere noted that there was a lot of deceit within the coalition.
“We were not coerced to join ODM in Azimio, we joined willingly and if they mistreat Jubilee members, we will leave willingly because we have experienced firsthand the conmanship, politics of deceit, and political banditry by our brothers in Azimio,” Korere said.
10 other members of the Jubilee Party flanked Korere and reiterated her sentiments, saying their party members were aggrieved by the treatment they have received in the coalition.
Eldas Member of Parliament Adan Keynan pointed out that Jubilee is the second largest party after ODM and nobody was going to relegate them to the position of flower girls.
Keynan asked the Azimio coalition leadership to make haste in convening a meeting and allow Jubilee to nominate its candidate for the PSC.
“After ODM we are the second largest party in the coalition, so it is not something that we are begging, it’s our right, so we are asking the Azimio leadership to fast track these, call for a meeting and allow Jubilee to nominate a candidate to the PSC because we are not going to be flower girls to anybody,” Keynan said.
