Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan has offered a job to the fisherman who led in rescuing passengers after a Precision Air plane crashed into Lake Victoria on Sunday.
Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa announced on Monday that President Suluhu had ordered government officials to employ the 20-year-old who exhibited his heroic deeds on Sunday.
In a statement from the PM’s Office, Majaliwa said the Ministry of Home Affairs had been directed to hire Majaliwa Jackson as an officer in the Tanzania Fire and Rescue Force.
This comes as the Tanzanian Premier rewarded the young man for his brave efforts that resulted in 26 people being rescued from the Precision Air plane crash scene in the lake.

“The fisherman should be trained in rescue mission,” Majaliwa said in his statement.
He revealed the job offer by the Head of State when he led mourners in paying their last respects to the 19 passengers who died in the crash in Bukoba District in Kagera Province.
Majaliwa said 17 passengers and two pilots died after the ATR-48 airplane crash-landed in Lake Victoria during approach at Bukoba Airport from Dar es Salaam at 8:20am on Sunday.
The Prime Minister revealed that 24 people, including 22 passengers and two cabin crew members, were rescued following the tragic plane accident.
The government pledged to meet all funeral expenses as Kagera Regional Commissioner Albert Chalamila indicated that officials managed to pull out the aircraft from the lake.
