Hundreds of passengers continued to be stranded at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Sunday as the ongoing strike by Kenya Airways pilots continued to bite for the second day.
This comes as KQ earlier announced it had resumed the operation of six flights even as passengers of the national carrier continued to lament for missing their outward flights.
Among the routes KQ said it has resumed include Nairobi - Entebbe (KQ 420) at 12:45PM, Entebbe - Nairobi (KQ 421) at 2:45PM, Nairobi- Mombasa (KQ 606) at 1:30PM and Mombasa - Nairobi (KQ 607) at 3:30 PM.

Other Kenya Airways flight that had reportedly resumed operations are Nairobi - Lusaka (KQ 706) at 5:00PM and Nairobi - Lusaka (KQ 707) at 8:20PM.
The troubled airline has also established a help desk at JKIA, Terminal 1A to assist the stranded passengers get to travel and also connect those whose flights have resumed.
Kenya Airways on Friday revealed that the industrial strike by its pilots could possibly cost the airline at least up to Sh300 million per day as it seeks a lasting solution to the stalemate.
KQ had indicated earlier that it was ready and willing to engage with the pilots under their umbrella body Kenya Airlines Pilot Association (KALPA) after they issued their strike notice.
However, the pilots made good their threat to down their tools starting Saturday and were later joined by the staff at Kenya’s airports under their Kenya Aviation Workers Union.
The statement on their withdrawal of labour was issued on Saturday just a few hours after the KQ pilots downed their tools but they later on Sunday reversed their decision saying they would await the outcome of the talks between KQ, the government and pilots.
