Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has told off the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga over his remarks in which he said they would not be intimidated into joining the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Gachagua was speaking during a thanksgiving ceremony on Sunday in Murang’a County.

The deputy president noted Raila’s remarks and told him they were not looking for him, nor did they have time.

"Yesterday, I saw him saying that he will not be coerced or intimidated into joining our government. Listen to me...We are not looking for you and we have no time," Gachagua said.

Gachagua further accused the former Prime Minister of destroying former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government after allegedly entering it.

"The last time he entered Uhuru's government, he destroyed it," said Gachagua.

The former Mathira MP challenged Raila to stick to their oversight role in the opposition and reiterated President William Ruto has a team, which includes himself that can help him run the government.

"We have a president who can work and we don't want help from that man. Stay where you are and do your oversight role. Let them correct us that is their job and if they do that they will be doing their job," Gachagua said.

On Saturday during a burial in Kisumu, Raila said he would stand firm with his people as long as they were united and nothing would intimidate them into joining the current administration.

“If our people unite, I will stand firm with them and we cannot be intimidated into joining the government,” Raila said.
