President William Ruto has officially appointed his picks for the 24 positions in his cabinet following their unanymous approval by the National Assembly on Wednesday.
The president gazetted the names of the 24 appointees on Wednesday, just a few hours after a House plenary, through a vote, approved the 22 nominees for CS, the Secretary to the Cabinet nominee Mercy Wanjau and Justin Muturi as Attorney General.
"IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by Article 156 (2) of the Constitution, I, William Samoei Ruto, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, appoint …to be Cabinet Secretaries, with effect from the 27th October, 2022," the notice partly read.
The Gazette Notice NO. 13035 was issued on Wednesday evening, confirming the names of the appointees.
Justin Muturi was gazetted as the Attorney General, while Mercy Wanjau was gazetted as the Secretary to the Cabinet.

The 24 cabinet appointees are expected to be sworn into office on Thursday before they officially assume responsibility in their respective ministries.
