The suspect linked to the cold-blooded murder of Ida Odinga’s bodyguard has finally been arrested after four days of a spirited manhunt.
Detectives arrested Collins Okundi in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County on Sunday and placed him in the custody of the Eldoret West-based Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Nyanza regional police boss, Karanja Muiruri confirmed Okundi’s arrest.
"Yes, he has been arrested, but he is still in Eldoret," Muiruri said.
Okundi is expected to be transferred to Kisumu where the murder of Barack Oduor occurred on Friday morning after an ugly brawl.

It is reported that Okundi, the manager of a local club in Kisumu known as Signature confronted the deceased allegedly over a woman before a brawl ensued.
Okundi is said to have picked a quarrel with Oduor who was in the company of two other people on Friday morning before disarming him, shooting him twice in the head and leg, and fleeing the scene.
When police arrested the suspect, they recovered a pistol bearing the Kenya Police serial number believed to be the exact firearm stolen from Oduor and a magazine with seven rounds of ammunition.
According to the Kisumu county police commander Alphonse Kimanthi, Okundi may be arraigned in court on Monday.
