The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has confirmed the arrest of a driver and two conductors of the matatu captured in the viral reckless matatu video.
The video featured two conductors hanging precariously from the matatu’s door and performing dangerous 'stunts' on the matatu belonging to the Umoinner Sacco plying a Nairobi Eastlands route on SUnda.

The arrest comes after an uproar from members of the public who saw the video and asked the authority to take action against the culprits.
“The driver & the two conductors have been arrested. They will be charged accordingly,” NTSA said.
The authority further thanked members of the public who reported the incident and demanded action be taken.
“Road Safety is a shared responsibility & we thank the public for reporting this incident,” NTSA said.
NTSA also challenged all road users to maintain vigilance and report such cases.
"We urge all road users to remain vigilant & speak out against such behaviour," the authority said.
