A fire broke out in a building close to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in Mombasa.


Viral videos that captured the Tuesday incident have since circulated across social media and they show thick, dark smoke from the building.

Fire brigade trucks from the County Government of Mombasa can also be seen at the scene and firefighters are seen trying to contain the fire.


The fire is mostly concentrated on the upper floor of the two-story building.

The cause of the fire that broke out in a building said to be KMTC staff quarters is yet to be established.
