The hearing of the multi-billion-shilling Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal case proceeded at Milimani Anti-Corruption Court on Monday with first prosecution witness, Charity Mui, being cross-examined.
She told Chief Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi how the accused persons plotted to float tenders for the two dam projects and awarded CMC di Ravenna- Itinera Joint Ventures despite the company not bidding for the projects.
Charity served as secretary to the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) Adhoc Technical and Evaluation Tendering Committee which evaluated tender documents linked to the two dam construction projects.
The prosecution in the corruption case spearheaded by Special Prosecutor and Senior Counsel Taib Ali Taib has lined up a total of 32 witnesses to support the high-profile case.
