The suspect believed to be behind the recent spate of cattle theft in Kiambu County has been arrested.

Kiambu County police arrested the suspect amid growing concerns over the increasing incidents where cattle are stolen and slaughtered for sale in the region.

Kiambu Police Commander Perminus Kioi while confirming the arrest said the thieves have been selling the stolen meat in Kamakis along the Eastern bypass.

The cattle thieves have terrorised residents of Kiambu who woke up on various occasions only to find their cattle being stolen or already missing.

A recent case involved a woman in the area who woke up and found the carcasses of her cattle after the thieves stole her sheep.

Another incident left a man counting his losses after his cattle were stolen at night by the suspects.
