DCI detectives in Starehe are hunting down a suspect who is said to have attacked and killed an elderly man on the spot following a row over water supply at an apartment in Eastleigh.
The suspect, who has only identified as Issa, is reported to have gone into hiding immediately after killing 51-year-old man Abdifatah Hassan Barre with a Somali sword.
The late man’s son, Mohamud Abdifatah Hassan, says he had been requested by a client to supply water using his water bowser to an apartment near Almin Hospital in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
However, on arrival, Barre and his son were allegedly confronted by a group of business rivals who accused them of invading their ‘territory’ resulting in a bitter exchange of words.

In the ensuing fracas the suspect is said to have reached for a Somali sword and struck the deceased old man in one strike on the left side of his chest killing him on the spot.
It is then that the suspect, Issa, is reported to have fled the scene and gone into hiding, while Barre was confirmed dead on arrival at Almin Hospital where he had been rushed.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), detectives are following crucial leads that might result in his arrest and eventually paying for his crimes through the courts.
