Woman hospitalized after motorbike knocks her down in Ongata Rongai

A motorbike rider has knocked down a woman at Total Energies Ongata Rongai filling station along Magadi Road.

The incident happened on Saturday evening when the woman and her child were crossing the road from the filling station side.

According to a traffic police officer who witnessed the accident happen, the motorbike rider who was riding recklessly from Kiserian at a high speed overtook him at the petrol station before knocking the woman down.

The woman sustained injuries and was immediately rushed to the Hospital by a well-wisher in a Subaru Forester and luckily, the child came out of the incident unhurt.

The traffic police impounded the motorbike as the rider followed the woman and her child to the hospital on another motorbike.

The accident slowed down traffic at that section of the road, but the traffic police officer on site is working to ease it.

Residents of the area have complained about the recklessness of motorbike riders especially boda boda operators
