The Roots Party presidential running mate Justina Wamae has issued a statement confirming her principal and party’s presidential candidate George Wajackoyah is indeed supporting the Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition.
Justina’s claims come only hours after Wajackoyah through the party spokesperson Wilson Wilson Muirani alias Jaymo Ule Mse issued a statement denouncing the reports that he has endorsed Raila for president.
Wajackoyah termed the claims as hopeless imagination and rumours coined by his opponents after smelling defeat.
"The notion that Prof Wajackoya has endorsed Raila Odinga is a hopeless imagination," Wajackoyah said.

However, Justina’s claims have painted a different picture as she confirmed what her principal had denied.
“It’s true the allegations that my principal and leader is supporting Azimio, but we have not discussed that as a party. We have not agreed, neither have I been consulted,” Justina said.
Justina also said she would support the contrary if push came to shove, as she maintained the party was yet to hold discussions about the matter.
“But let me say this, if push comes to shove and we need to take a stand on not support out of the other three presidential candidates who are our worthy opponents. I see that, I will support the contrary, but as I speak, we have not agreed as a party and we’re still focused on pushing our agenda as Roots Party and popularising our manifesto,” she said.
Justina said her questions about the direction the party should take from their supporters prompted her to address the matter.
“So our supporters were asking, which direction are we taking? So they needed to speak because it has been two times we have been rendered a project. So I say that we have not agreed as a party. I’ve not been consulted regarding this move and if it comes to push and shove, then I’ll support the contrary that is my stand as Justina,” Justina said.
The two contradicting statements from the Roots Party leadership have left their supporters wondering what direction they should take and a lot of questions in their minds with only five days left to the Tuesday poll.
