The Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has dismissed reports circulating that he endorsed the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition competitor Raila Odinga for president.

This comes after a video went viral alleging he had endorsed Raila.

Roots Party spokesperson Wilson Muirani alias Jaymo Ule Mse issued a statement clarifying Wajackoyah was on a campaign trail when he happened to address his supporters at a local entertainment joint.

"Our attention has been drawn to a viral video clip showing our presidential candidate Prof George Wajackoya on the campaign trail addressing his supporters at an entertainment joint," the statement reads.

Muirani further explained while Wajackoyah was addressing his supporters at the entertainment joint, he accorded all his competitors their respect.

Roots Party accused the biased media of altering the clip to suit an agenda.

According to Wajakoyah, his opponents have sensed defeat and therefore resolved to use unscrupulous means to create a mirage of winning the elections and the notion of him endorsing Raila was nothing but a pipe dream.

"The notion that Prof Wajackoya has endorsed Raila Odinga is a hopeless imagination," Wajackoyah said.

He assured his supporters that he will carry the day come the election day.
