A section of Kenyans has been outraged by the manner UDA’s Communications Director Hussein Mohamed pushed aside a lady who accompanied the Kenya Kwanza Alliance Presidential candidate William Ruto to the 2022 Presidential debate at the Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA) on Tuesday.

In a video that has since gone viral online, Hussein is seen stopping the lady in her tracks while she was walking beside Ruto presumably to make space for the Second Lady Rachel Ruto to walk beside the DP as he was walking to the Pope Paul VI learning resource centre at the CUEA.

The lady who was pushed aside identified as Pauline Waithera is the same one who accompanied Ruto to the Bomas of Kenya on June 4, 2022, when he went to receive his clearance certificate to contest in the August election and supported his presidential bid.

Waithera represents the local traders and women from the low-income pool.

Ironically, Ruto’s campaigns have been riding on the pledge to uphold ‘mama mbogas’ of this country and he is on record saying he believed it was a ‘mama mboga’ moment.

Here are some reactions from Kenyans who saw the video.
