The Kenyan Government through the Ministry of Health has reinstated the mandatory wearing of face masks in indoor or confined spaces.
This comes as the country faces the 6th wave of the dreaded Covid-19.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe revealed on Monday that the coronavirus is spreading faster in indoor spaces, therefore, requiring everyone wears a mask.
"We have seen situations like in political indoor meetings where we are seeing super spreading of COVID-19... we also require worshippers to wear face masks when inside places of worship," Kagwe said.

"Those who have not been vaccinated should do so immediately. Those who have been vaccinated and need a booster shot should do so immediately," the CS said.
The Health CS also said that all travellers who are yet to be vaccinated and arriving at any port of entry into the country are required to have a negative PCR test result conducted within 72 hours before their departure.
According to the report from the Ministry of Health on Sunday, Kenya’s Covid-19 positivity rate was 9.9% after 246 people tested positive from a sample size of 2,484 people tested in the last 24 hours.
Another report released on Thursday by the Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Covid-19 showed that Kenya is among the countries experiencing the 6th wave of Covid-19.
The report also listed Mauritius and Kenya as the only African Union (AU) member states experiencing the 6th Covid-19 wave.
“Two member states (Kenya and Mauritius) experienced a 6th Covid-19 wave. Since the last briefing, One additional member State (Kenya) is experiencing the 6th wave,” Africa CDC stated.
