Six employees of Kenyatta National Hospital have been arraigned in a Nairobi court where they were charged with stealing cancer drugs from the hospital.
The six employees, namely Rose Jepkosgei, Emily Nyambura, Philip Owino, Yvonne Muthoni, Mary Mumo and Maureen Adongo appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo Micheni.
According to the court documents, the six are accused of conspiring to steal the cancer treatment drugs worth Sh9 million from Kenyatta Prime Care Centre Pharmacy.
They were released on a Sh500,000 cash bail or Sh1 million bond after pleading not guilty to the charges.
They challenged the charge sheet that was stamped by Kenya police, and the trial magistrate directed their lawyer to file a formal application.
