Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has congratulated Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition presidential running mate Martha Karua.


Havi took to his Twitter account to heap praises on Karua after Azimio Coalition’s presidential candidate Raila Odinga picked her to deputise him.

“Congratulations Martha Karua SC. I have worked with you on the two-thirds gender rule matter and the BBI matters. H E Raila Odinga is blessed to have you as his Deputy and CS Justice and Constitutional Affairs. I wish the two of you the very best in your quest to serve Kenya,” Havi said.

The lawyer also shared photographs of himself and Karua taken in their gowns probably from a court session.

Earlier on, Havi said Karua will effectively deputise Raila as took a swipe at the Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka while advising Raila to no longer tolerate Kalonzo’s fickleness and ruse.

“Martha Karua SC will effectively deputize H E Raila Odinga in Government or in the Opposition. She is level head with well-calibrated political calipers for precision in decision making. Baba should not succumb to the caprice and treachery of Kalonzo Musyoka any longer. Finito!” Havi said.


He also revealed that Karua defended Raila back in the 1980s and 1990s when he was in trouble with the late President Daniel Arap Moi.

"What most of you do not know is that Martha Karua SC ferociously acted for and defended H E Raila Odinga in the many trumped charges brought against him in the 1980s and 1990s by the Government of President Daniel Arap Moi. She is a formidable ally," Havi said.

Havi is contesting for the Westlands parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket against ODM's Tim Wanyonyi.
