The Kenya Kwanza Alliance deferred the naming of Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate in the August election on Sunday.
The Director of Ruto’s Presidential Campaign Communications Director Hussein Mohamed announced this on Sunday morning in a presser at the DP's Karen residence.
Hussein announced the alliance already has a decision as far as their choice for a running mate is concerned and will be announced to the public on Sunday.
However, he did not specify the exact time Kenya Kwanza will unveil Ruto’s running mate.
“The running mate issue was also extensively discussed today. We are happy to announce that we have a decision as Kenya Kwanza and the decision has been reached and will be officially communicated to you to the country and to the world tomorrow,” Hussein said.

The announcement comes after Kenya Kwanza Alliance talks about their choice for a running mate hit a snag on Saturday as was scheduled.
The situation at DP Ruto’s Karen was reported to have been so tense that forced two candidates for the running mate’s slot walkout at 5 pm.
Kithure Kindiki left the DP’s residence first at around 5 pm and about 20 minutes later, Rigathi Gachagua followed suit, leaving other Kenya Kwanza leaders in a meeting to resolve the matter.
Elsewhere, Rigathi’s supporters protested the possibility of their leader being left out of the running mate position.
According to a video that went viral on social media, the supporters gathered at an unknown location and were chanting pro-Rigathi slogans saying “No Rigathi, No Ruto”.
The country is waiting for the announcement eager to know who the DP picked to be his deputy.
