President Uhuru Kenyatta condoled and comforted South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, his government and the people of the Republic of South Africa following the death of over 300 people in floods that have wreaked havoc in the country.
The death toll has risen to 341 by the time of this publication in the country’s KwaZulu-Natal Province.
The raging floods have affected about 40,723 people.
Uhuru wished quick recovery to the injured in the calamity and condoled with the families that lost their loved ones in the catastrophe.
The president prayed for God’s comfort as they come to terms with their situation.

Uhuru assured the people of South Africa that the people of Kenya are in solidarity with their country during their difficult moments of grief and suffering.
"The government and the people of Kenya stand in solidarity with South Africans during this difficult period of grief and suffering," Uhuru said.
Ramaphosa declared the region a state of disaster to unlock relief funds.
The floods have destroyed property worth millions, including houses and infrastructure.
The floods also caused mudslides and several people are still missing as efforts by rescue teams to find them are still ongoing.
