A photo has emerged and gone viral online showing Embakasi West Member of Parliament George Theuri campaigning in his constituency barefoot in nothing but a pair of shorts and a jersey.
Theuri is serving his second term as the Embakasi West MP seems to be pulling some last-minute gimmick to the general election in August in order to endear himself to the electorate.
Kenyans have shared the photo across social media amid criticism of the MP and jests with some saying Theuri has been missing in action for five years before resurfacing.
A section of KOT is asking what the odds are if Theuri is walking barefoot only to go enter a Mercedes Benz car appearing in the photo assumed to be his.
Some people have put him to task to explain how he has been the area's MP yet in such estates as Umoja there is a perennial shortage of water supply, poor drainage and poor sewerage system.
It is a norm, especially in the days nearing elections, to see Kenyan aspirants pull peculiar and desperate stunts in public, hoping to win the hearts of the electorate.
Away from their tinted car windows and bodyguards, political aspirants are known to walk door to door, eating at dingy places with members of the public or helping out their voters perform menial duties to feign false humility.
However, once they get elected, they disappear from the public until the next election
