A 24-year-old woman surrendered herself to Ainabkoi Police Station in Kericho County after stabbing her 24-year-old boyfriend to death over a relationship dispute.

According to witness reports, the two who have been living under the same roof had been tiffing in their relationship for the past week.

The witnesses said the bone of contention came from some discomfort the woman had with a work arrangement her boyfriend had with some other ladies who managed his Lotto gambling machines, which operated in the same centre.

When the misunderstanding rose to alarming proportions, the deceased sought to iron out the dispute and went to the woman’s place of chips business in the centre.

Unfortunately, the couple did not come down to an understanding, and the woman turned violent against the man instead.

The situation quickly turned grim when the woman stabbed the man in the neck and the chest using the kitchen knife she had been using to peel potatoes and killed him on the spot.

Residents and well-wishers’ efforts to help the wounded man bore no fruits as the man succumbed to his injuries a few moments later.

Upon realising the weight of what she had done and the growing crowd that was probably irate, the woman hopped on a boda boda and headed straight to the police station and surrendered herself.

Police officers from Kapsoit Police Station arrived at the scene and collected evidence before moving the body of the deceased to Kericho Referral Hospital mortuary.

The woman is currently being detained by police as she waits to be arraigned in court over the incident.
