Nyamira County Governor John Nyangarama is dead.
Nyangarama died at Nairobi Hospital on Friday morning from complications related to Covid-19 and had been admitted to the health facility’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for some time.
According to the Nyamira Governor’s family, he succumbed to the ailment at the age of 74 after his lungs collapsed and he started experiencing breathing difficulties.
He had been leading spirited campaigns in Nyamira to curb the spread of the virus and had been appealing to residents to observe guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.
