Gladys Wanga is the ultimate candidate who is going to fly the Orange Democratic Party flag in the Homa Bay gubernatorial contest.
This comes after the Homa Bay gubernatorial aspirants, the ODM leader Raila Odinga and the party’s leadership held a consultative meeting on Thursday.
The meeting has cooled the political temperatures that were heated around the Homa Bay gubernatorial primaries.
A consensus was arrived at and the local leaders resolved to back Wanga's bid to become the county’s governor in the August elections.

"They have had very extensive consultations at the end of it an agreement has been reached by way of consensus that out of the seven contestants who were here they all agreed to step down and back Honourable Gladys Wanga as a party candidate in Homa Bay County gubernatorial race," Raila said.
The meeting also resolved that Wanga’s running mate would be the incumbent member of Parliament for the Kasipul Kabondo constituency Oyugi Magwanga.
"In the same spirit, they've also nominated her running mate as honourable Oyugi Magwanga."
Raila said ODM has noted the resolutions of the meeting, agreed and given the certificate to Wanga.
"The party of course has taken note and has agreed and issued a certificate to honourable Gladys Wanga as the ODM party candidate in the gubernatorial race for Homa Bay County," Raila said.
Raila said that was a voluntary exercise and the ODM party provides for consensus building, nomination by delegates, nomination by members or direct party nomination.
The Homa Bay gubernatorial race attracted many aspirants, including Isaiah Ogwe, Oyugi Magwanga, John Mbadi, Gladys Wanga, Akelo Misori, Evans Kidero among others.
Gwassi MP John Mbadi had already stepped down from the race to focus on the presidential campaigns.
