Kirinyaga gubernatorial aspirant Wangui Ngirichi is counting her losses after introducing Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA party and investing in it in Kirinyaga County.
Ngirichi said she regrets her husband Andrew Ngirichi selling their lavish family house worth millions and used the proceeds to fund UDA campaigns in the region.
"My husband had to sell a lavish family house just to sell UDA'S agenda in Kirinyaga County, only for Ruto to Betray me," Ngirichi said.
She revealed those details while she was campaigning in Kiamanyeki, Mwea constituency on Saturday.
Ngirichi said despite the sacrifices she and efforts she made to popularise UDA, she was still shortchanged and betrayed.

“I sacrificed a lot for the UDA party but I was later shortchanged,” Ngirici said,
She urged the residents of Kirinyaga to avoid electing people based on their political affiliation rather by their commitment to safeguarding their interests.
“Let us abolish this issue of electing parties. Let us think about individuals who will represent our interests,” she added.
In December 2021, Ngirichi ditched UDA and decided to contest for Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate.
This was after accusing the UDA party of openly siding with her political archenemy, Governor Anne Waiguru, despite investing her time and money heavily in the party.
Ngirichi will face it off in the August election with the incumbent governor Waiguru, Senator Charles Kibiru, TSP’s Joseph Ndathi among others.
