Milimani court has ruled that the sixteen suspects arrested for the sexual assault of a female motorist on Forest Road will spend fifteen more days in police custody.

The court directed the suspects to remain in police custody for fifteen days to allow the prosecution to conclude its investigation.

Principal Magistrate Robert Shikwe granted the prosecution’s request for more days to conclude their investigations.

Police Inspector Yvonne Mwanzia, the prosecutor, asked for 20 more days to conclude the investigations.

"I need 20 days to investigate the suspects who have no known place of abode," Mwanzia asked.

Shikwe said the matter was of public interest, therefore, creating the need for police to be granted more time to question the suspects.

According to Mwanzia, the victim is yet to sign a P3 form as she is still undergoing medication and remedial therapy.

The investigation also needs to retrieve CCTV footage of the incident for forensic analysis as well as the suspects' mobile phones.

Mwanzia also said the needed time to compile the police report before submitting it to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for perusal.

However, the suspects who were not represented objected to the 20 days, with some citing they are not boda boda riders.
