Police intercepted a car at Saba-saba along the Nyeri-Murang’a highway on Monday evening with two female occupants ferrying a consignment of bhang.
The vehicle was transporting the consignment from Busia to an unknown destination via the longer Nakuru-Nyahururu-Nyeri-Murang’a highway in a bid to avoid being detected.
The police were acting on a tip-off from a concerned member of the public who contacted them through the ‘Fichua kwa DCI’ toll-free hotline.
Before being apprehended, the ladies engaged the police in a dramatic chase that seem to have come out straight from a Hollywood movie, making the Transnational and Organised Crimes (TOCU) detectives have to break a sweat to keep up.
