The Bodaboda Safety Association of Kenya (BAK) has issued a statement condemning the Forest Road attack and harassment of a female motorist by boda boda operators.
Through its executive chairperson Chairman Kevin Mubadi, the association said it upholds the morals of society and respects women.
“As BAK we have seen the video circulating online with riders harassing a lady allegedly involved in an accident. We condemn this act of hooliganism as a sector. The bodaboda Safety Association of Kenya upholds the moral of the society and respects women,” BAK said.
The association termed the incident as a case of sexual harassment and gender-based violence.
“The incident where the lady was harassed and stripped naked is Sexual harassment and Genda based violence which as an organization we condemn strongly,” BAK said.

BAK called upon the police and any other government agency to fasten the investigation and ensure that the culprits have been brought to book.
The association also revealed it has started full registration of riders to weed out criminal elements in the sector.
“We have also started full registration of riders to ensure everyone is registered and identified in order to remove criminals from our sector,” the association asserted.
BAK apologised to the victim and generally to Kenyan women for the incident and pledged to ensure justice is served.
“We apologize to the victim and also to the women around the country who have gone through this, our heart ache for you and as your brothers, fathers and husbands we shall ensure you get your justice,” BAK said.
