Deputy President William Ruto has arrived in the United States of America to begin his 10-day tour of the country and the United Kingdom.

Ruto shared through his Twitter handle he was received by Kenyan Ambassador to the US Lazarus Amayo.

“We were received by, among others, Kenya’s Ambassador to the United States, Lazarus Amayo,” Ruto tweeted.

The deputy president left the country on Sunday alongside the Governor of Turkana County Josphat Nanok.


An advance party of his entourage on the tour that includes David Ndii, Musalia Mudavadi, Ababu Namwamba and Hussein Mohamed had already arrived ahead of Ruto.

The Senator for Nairobi County Johnson Sakaja also left the country for the US days ahead of Ruto supposedly to lay the groundwork for Ruto and his entourage.

According to his Head of International Relations Namwamba, Ruto is Ruto is honouring invites by senior government officials and top policy institutes in Washington, DC before heading to the United Kingdom.
