A DNA released on Monday confirmed that the late Matungu Member of Parliament Justus Murunga was the father of one of two children that his lover claimed were his biologically.

The paternity test results indicated the Murunga fathered one of Agnes Wangui's children, a girl, although she had filed papers in court claiming the late MP had fathered her two children.

The tests on Wangui’s two children aged 7 and 3 was done by Crystal Lab Pathologists and the one on the daughter corresponded to the MPs DNA by 99.9 per cent.

The report states, “From the DNA profiling, the MP is the one who sired the 3-year-old girl while he is excluded from being the father of the 7-year-old boy."

The woman had alleged in papers filed in court that she met Murunga while she was a hawker in Ruai while he was a supervisor at the Embakasi Ranching company.

Wangui, 35, moved to court to stop Murunga’s burial demanding that she be allowed to take part in the plans together with her two children claiming to have been with him for seven years.

She had claimed the lawmaker had rented a two-bedroom house for her and used to take care of the children and even planned to officially solemnize their marriage.

Murunga was married to two known wives and was buried on December 5 and now the confirmed daughter of his will also have to be included in plans to inherit Murunga's estates.
