Police are investigating an incident where a Grade 3 pupil committed suicide at Siaya Township Primary School in Siaya County.

The 10-year-old minor was found hanging from the roof of his parents’ house at Awelo Estate in Siaya town with a belt on Sunday evening.

Siaya sub-county Police Commander Bernard Mwangagi confirmed the incident, saying the area chief reported the incident.

According to Mwangangi, the minor had attempted suicide on Saturday but was stopped in good time.

Sources say the minor exhibited signs of someone who is disturbed prior to those incidents.

The body of the deceased was moved to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary for autopsy as police are continuing with the investigations.
