Siaya High Court has sentenced a 36-year-old man to life imprisonment for the murder of his brother.
The court found Michael Onyango Awich guilty of murdering his brother Charles Oduor Awich over a land dispute.
He appeared before Lady Justice Roseline Aburili at the court who handed down the sentence stating that the accused was deemed violent and proven guilty of the murder of the deceased.
The deceased went missing on February 11, 2020, and turned up dead after 10 days of intense searching.
Apparently, Michael hired some goons who went masquerading as police officers from Ndere Police Post and stormed Charles’s house at around 10 pm on the previous night of his disappearance.

The fake cops went away with Charles, purporting that he was needed at the police station and that was the last time Charles was seen alive.
Charles’s widow told the court her husband instructed their children to go to bed before the two men came in requesting to see Charles on the fateful night of his disappearance.
His decomposing body was later discovered at Sango Beach in Busia County on February 21, 2020, by the area residents.
The body was later moved to Port Victoria Hospital mortuary from where it was identified positively by his kin.
