Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two individuals for masquerading as public service employees.
Godwins Otieno Agutu and his accomplice David Mburu Muthi were arrested at Wonder Joy Party headquarters along Kiambu road.
DCI says the two had forcefully gained entry into the premises and reportedly started harassing its owner, demanding a bribe for a land fraud case against him to be manipulated.
Agutu and Muthi had made a spectacular entry into the premise driving in two top of the rave SUVs with strobe lights and sirens which showed they meant business. They also had a team of heavily built who hang precariously on the vehicles.
The heavily built fellows remained outside and cordoned off the premise from outside interference.

They identified themselves as the anti-graft director and his deputy before heading straight to the property owner Wandere’s office and demanded the bribe without batting an eyelid.
DCI detectives were alerted of the incident and immediately responded immediately.
On realising the police were upon them, the team of heavily built men who were previously wielding walkie talkies dashed for their safely leaving Aguty and Muthi behind.
The detectives discovered Agutu had a long rap sheet with serious fraud cases when they did a deep dive in his records.
He was previously arrested in 2017 for masquerading as a Senior Superintendent of Police attached to the Criminal Investigation Department.
The police also recovered various job cards from Agutu showing he had held senior management positions at the Kenya Revenue Authority and Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
Agutu is alleged to have shut down several health facilities for allegedly operating below certain regulatory standards.
On January 26, 2022, Aguti and his accomplices paid Sidai Oleng Club along Kiambu Road a visit and attempted to abduct the owner, one John Ngugi in relation to a purported investigative case Agutu was conducting against him.
The detectives have been granted custodial orders to detain Agutu until Monday when he will take a plea.
Police are asking any person who has fallen victim to Agut’s chicanery to file a report to the Serious Crimes Unit at the DCI headquarters.
