The United States Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) has donated a motor vehicle to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The Director DCI George Kinoti received the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado presented to him by Overseas Criminal Investigations Special Agent Ryan Williams at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road.

The vehicle will be used by a special unit of the DCI assigned to the US embassy-based US Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.

According to Kinoti, the car will enhance the work of detectives investigating International travel and identity document fraud in passports, visas, alien smuggling and human trafficking.

Kinoti expressed his appreciation of the gesture, saying crimes related to illegal wildlife products, narcotics, funds or weapons that support terrorism will be probed quickly apart from document fraud.

He lauded the continued partnership between the DCI and INL saying the cooperation between the two will play an important role in combating organized crime operating in the underworld and also enhance regional surveillance as well as in the US.

The ceremony was also attended by, among others; Assistant Criminal Fraud Investigator for Regional Security Samuel Kamau and the team leader Robert Birir.
