The family of the former speaker of the National Assembly Kenneth Marende is mourning the death of Mama Dorina Omukanda Marende.

Mama Dorina was the mother of Kenneth Marende.

She passed away on Monday night following a brief illness at a Kisumu hospital where she was receiving treatment.

The long-serving teacher and evangelist died aged 87.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence to the Marende family over their loss.
