The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has cautioned politicians against using its logo in their campaign materials.

IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati on Friday said the commission has noted the growing trend of political aspirants using IEBC logo on their campaign materials.

“The commission has noted a growing trend of aspirants using its logo on their campaign posters and billboards,” Chebukati said.

He warned that the use of IEBC logo on political campaign materials is illegal and contravenes the commission’s constitutional standing.

“This is an illegal act which contravenes the constitutional standing of the commission as an independent, impartial and non-partisan institution,” he added.

Quite a number of aspirants have used the IEBC logo and colours on their campaign posters.
