The Ugandan government has banned female traders from sitting in cabins of transit trucks.
This is because it is believed they are a distraction to drivers and make them cause accidents.
The directive comes after an accident involving a truck occurred at Pii-awec swamp Lira.
The truck had in it female traders who were carried in the cabin and the driver of the truck must have just been reckless.
However, Ugandan authorities insist he was distracted by the female passengers because they allegedly were dressed provocatively.
The government’s decision has elicited mixed reactions from Ugandans with a section of them supporting the government's decision and the other sharply differing with the government on the matter.
