Kamiti Maximum inmates went on a hunger strike and staged a day-long protest over claims of mistreatment by prison warders.

One video clip circulating on social media shows prisoners had scaled walls and roofs tops of the prison facility.

According to sources, the inmates were demanding an end to ill-treatment by the warders that seemed to have been aggravated by last year November’s prison break by three terror convicts.

The inmates also complained about prolonged hours of being locked up in their prison cells that go for days and nights.

Another video clip also showed anti-riot police subduing the protests.
