The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has appointed Linda Kiome to replace the incumbent President Nelson Havi.

The LSK Branch Caucus announced his replacement and revealed the Mount Kenya Branch Caucus chair will assume all the responsibilities that Havi handled as LSK boss.

Havi’s replacement comes shortly before the end of his term, which was supposed to be in March.

The Caucus moved to take over running LSK business was occasioned by the nullification of CEO Mercy Wambua’s suspension by the High court.

High Court judge Anthony Mrima also directed that if LSK activities were still paralysed within twenty-one days of the ruling, then the caucus would take the reins.

On Wednesday, Havi said his switch to politics informed his decision to quit LSK.

The incumbent LSK president has ventured into politics and has his eyes set on the Westlands Parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket.

Havi said he would issue an official statement on the same on Thursday.
