Meru Senator Mithika Linturi has been released from police custody on a Sh2 million cash bail or a Sh5 million bond with a surety of the same amount.

Linturi was released on Tuesday by Nakuru Law Courts where he appeared before Justice Edna Nyaloti.

While being released, Linturi was ordered Nyaloti not to contact any witnesses during the period which detectives are concluding investigations on his ‘madoadoa’ remarks case

He was also warned against uttering any inciting remarks or comment on his case that is still pending in court

“The respond should not utter any inciting speeches or issue comments on the pending case in court,” Nyaloti said.

Linturi was further instructed to report every Friday at noon to the Directorate if Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters along Kiambu Road.

The matter has been scheduled for mentioning on January 26, 2022.

Linturi was arrested on Sunday morning in connection to the words he uttered at Eldoret Sports Club during Deputy President William Ruto’s rally.
