Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) has named Pauline Murumba African Athletics Official of the year 2021.
Pauline, from Daystar University, School of Arts and Humanities was recognised because of the pivotal role she played as a referee judge in the 2021 World Athletics Under-20 championship held at Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani in August last year from 18th to 22nd.
According to CAA, Pauline contributed extensively in planning and judging various events and was also a member of the technical team at the 2017 World Athletic Under 18 Championship.
“She contributed extensively in planning and judging at various world events. She was a member of the technical committee and technical director at the 2017 World Athletics Under 18 Championships,” CAA said.
CAA said Pauline supervised the track events in liaison with relevant International Technical Official (ITO) of World Athletics as well as the organisation of the Nairobi Kip Keino for the 2020/2021 edition.
