The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has promoted 1,963 teachers from across the country.

This has come as a festive gift for the teachers whose promotions are effective immediately.

The CEO of TSC, Nancy Macharia, said 1,963 teachers from various categories were considered for promotions following interviews that were conducted between November 1st and 12th this year.

About 1,040 teachers were promoted from various categories to other categories, ranging from Chief Principal to Senior Teacher II categories.

53 Chief Principals, 51 Senior Principals, 49 principals, 33 Deputy Principal I, 15 Deputy Principal II, 16 Senior Lecturers I, 34 Curriculum Support Officers I, 9 Curriculum Support Officers II, 18 Senior Lecturers II, 296 Senior Head Teachers I and II, 466 Senior Teachers I and II were promoted under this category.

923 Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teachers in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) were also promoted to affirm an action of growth to them.

According to the TSC, all the promotions are based on Career Progression Guidelines for teachers.
